| Clan Douglas Society has leadership opportunities available for members in good standing. There are presently openings for State Regents in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Australia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, Washington D.C. State Regents are the lifeblood of our Clan Douglas Society. They represent a “rallying point” for other members in their state. A primary function for a State Regent is to be responsible for hosting a Clan Douglas tent at Scottish highland games. He/She would also serve as a source of information or referral, if requested by members. Many resources are available to you, including tent materials, financial aid, and a list of Clan Douglas members in your state. There is also a complete Regent’s Manual to assist you. We are a 28 year-old organization with approximately 2,500 active members. The Vice President is responsible for working with State Regents, aided by three Assistant Vice Presidents. There is no tenure involved; some members have been State Regents for as long as 15 years, or more. Being a State Regent can be very challenging, and very rewarding as well.
